Krajenka
Our
search for Zellmer places took us to the town of Krajenka, formerly Krojanke,
about 15 miles east of Christof's birthplace. It was here that a
few Zellmer christenings and marriages were recorded in the kirchenbuch
of the local Lutheran church between about 1790 and 1820. They lived
in the nearby village of Shönfeld, now Skorka, and we've not been
able to link them directly with our family yet but the nearby location
makes a connection likely. Krajenka is a good-sized farm country
business and residential community, perhaps about the size of Clintonville,
Wisconsin. The church is old and picturesque. Both the town
and the church were decorated for the 2000 church Jubilee and for "Mutterstag".
