     Abbott William Sherower was a historian and author, he served in later years as Chairman of an industrial confederation founded in 1912 by his father, Robert Sherower, which (as of 2005?) consists of 393 companies in 71 countries.

He authored numerous articles and papers in English, Spanish and Portugese languages as well as a nine-volume work on Napoleonic History, and has served as a consultant and advisor to several governments concerning inter-american defense matters.
