"According to contemporary New York Newspapers the Bremen ship SHAKESPERE; Fichter, master, arrived in New York on 28 August 1860, 48 days from Bremen, with merchandise and 437 passengers, to Charles Lüling.

"The SHAKSPEAR (also spelled SHAKESPERE and SHAKSPERE in contemporary records) was a three masted, square-rigged ship, built by G. THomas, Quincy, Massachusetts, and launched in 1856. 1183 tons (821 Commerzlasten), 180 x 35 x 22 feet (length x beam x depth of hold). On 4 February 1856 she was purchased by the Bremen firm of D. H. Wätjen & Co., to whom she belonged until 1878, when she was sold to Louis Kalkmann who employed her in the transportation of petroleum from the United States to Europe. She was abandoned in the North Atlantic in December 1889, during a Hurricane.

Tudgay, dated 1864, in the Focke-Museum in Bremen. (See exhibit). Johanna Christiane Hiller survived Johann Carl Gottlieb Keil in 1898 Wrightstown Twp, Brown Co, WI. Johanna Christiane Hiller died in 1907 Kaukauna, Outagamie Co, WI. She was buried Trinity Ev Luth Cem, Kaukauna, Outagamie Co, WI.

     William French Hobbs was born on 4 November 1909 Howard Co, MD. He died on 5 July 1996 at age 86.

     Benjamin Hodges was born in 1780 Albemarle Co, VA. He married Jane McComb, daughter of Brig. General James McComb, on 14 February 1809 Mercer Co, KY. They had 10 children: Martha, James, William, Adaline, Susan, Leonidas, Gelon, Thomas, Elizabeth, Sarah.. Benjamin Hodges died on 26 May 1843.

     Earl Barton Hodges was an educator and later an insurance agent and realtor in California.
