Richard Simmons was a planter at "Landover", near the later location of the Post Office and former rail station in Prince George's County MD. He owned other properties including extensive acreage on the Holland (later Hollins or Hawlings River), a branch of the Patuxent in what is now Montgomery County.
He was born on 12 August 1711 Prince George's Co, MD. He married Susanna Pottinger, daughter of Samuel Pottenger and Elizabeth Tyler, on 6 November 1735 Prince George's Co, MD. Richard Simmons married Mary Griffith on 7 March 1779 Upper Marlborough, Prince George's Co, MD. Richard Simmons died before 19 April 1785 MD; will proved.
He was born on 12 August 1711 Prince George's Co, MD. He married Susanna Pottinger, daughter of Samuel Pottenger and Elizabeth Tyler, on 6 November 1735 Prince George's Co, MD. Richard Simmons married Mary Griffith on 7 March 1779 Upper Marlborough, Prince George's Co, MD. Richard Simmons died before 19 April 1785 MD; will proved.
