     Aliston McNairy Sirls was born circa 1901 TN; age shown as 8 yrs at 1910 census, 18 yrs at 1920 census, 28 yrs at 1930 census. He married Ammie Lucy Bartlett, daughter of Norman S. Bartlett and Ella Wirt Wall, circa 1924.

     Hiram A. Sirls was born in February 1879 TN; age shown as 23 yrs at 1900 census. He married Laura Maupin. They had at least 2 children: Marguerite, Laudie.

     James Sirls was born on 12 January 1832 TN; age shown as 68 yrs at 1900 census. He married Nancy M. (?). James Sirls died on 13 June 1908 Davidson Co, TN, at age 76. He was buried Collins - Sirls Cemetery, Antioch, Davidson Co, TN.

     John M. Sirls was a railroad flagman and brakeman in 1900, 1910; a farmer at the 1920 census.

     Wilkes McNairy Sirls was an owner of the Sirls-London Insurance Agency in Gallatin, TN for many years. In addition to local civic involvement, Bill did extensive volunteer work as an emergency relief organizer for the American Red Cross, travelling to and working in disaster areas across the country. He generously shared his vast knowlege of family and local history with us. He was a first cousin, once removed, of BFE.

He is often called Bill or Billy. He was born on 13 December 1924 Antioch, Davidson Co, TN. He married Suzanne Sandidge, daughter of Kent Sandidge Jr. and Mildred Adele Regen, on 28 February 1947. Wilkes McNairy Sirls died on 8 October 2006 Sumner Co, TN, at age 81. He was buried Sumner Memorial Gardens, Gallatin, Sumner Co, TN.

Joseph William Skinner died on 23 June 1956 Shelby Co, TN, at age 86.

     Josephine Skinner was born circa 1867. She married Sheldon Delong, son of James Henry Delong and Hannah Fisher, on 22 November 1887 Whitby Twp, Ontario Co, Ontario, Canada. Josephine Skinner died on 11 April 1903 Ontario Co, Ontario, Canada. She was buried Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin, Durham Co, Ontario, Canada.

     Grey Skipwith was born circa 1622 Prestwould, Coates, Leicestershire, England. He immigrated circa 1655; to Virginia during the commomwealth in England after the family estates were taken and/or sold. He died circa 1680 Lancaster Co, VA.

     Henry Skipwith was a member of parliament and fervent royalist from Leicestershire, he inherited a baronetcy from his father but lost his estates after the fall of the monarchy. It is said that the manor of Prestwould was purchased by Sir Christopher Packe, Lord Mayor of London. At least two of Henry's children left England for (still) Tory Virginia. Others dispersed.

     Peyton Skipwith was a landowner, planter and state burgess in southside Virginia. He inherited an English baronetcy from his father. He acquired a large estate on the Roanoke River near Clarksville, some say in an extended poker game, from William Byrd III and built an imposing manor house which he called Prestwould after the ancestral home in Leicestershire, England. The house and gardens which he and his second wife, Jane Miller, designed and landscaped were well documented and are are now on the National Register of Historic Places. They are open to the public for tours.
